Cleveland County Maintenance Employee Arrested

TYSON, ANDRE RAYSHAWN

Cleveland County Sheriff Chris Amason announces the arrest of a Cleveland County Maintenance employee, Andre Tyson, on multiple charges including introduction of contraband into a penal institution.

Tyson, a County Maintenance employee, was assigned to the detention center in August 2021. The Sheriff’s office received a tip that indicated Tyson was introducing contraband into the Cleveland County Detention Center. Investigators initiated a criminal investigation and determined the information provided was credible. Tyson was taken into custody today, October 20, 2021, while in the process of distributing contraband. A search warrant was executed on Tyson’s home where additional evidence was collected.

Sheriff Amason issued the following statement: “This arrest should send a strong message that corrupt activity will not be tolerated at the Cleveland County Detention Center. Anyone who brings contraband into our facility should plan on wearing orange and staying with us for a while. They will be held accountable.”
